Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This is the studio-wide 5o6 privacy policy that also governs Cosmo Pop. The Cosmo Pop-specific data practices are in the Cosmo Pop (mobile game) section below.
Who we are
5o6 ("we", "our") is a small studio building utility apps and games.
This policy covers 5o6.com and all subdomains we
operate (e.g. quiz.5o6.com, decide.5o6.com),
as well as our mobile games, including Cosmo Pop
(see the Cosmo Pop section
below). If a specific app surfaces additional terms in-app, those
remain consistent with this policy.
Web apps (5o6.com and subdomains)
We try to collect as little as possible from visitors to our web apps. Specifically:
- Local progress data - your in-app history
(e.g. quiz attempts, decisions), preferences, and theme are
stored in your browser's
localStorage. They never leave your device unless you choose to sync (we don't currently offer sync). - Anonymous analytics - basic page-view counts and aggregated traffic data through privacy-respecting analytics. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking from our side.
- Ad-related data - when our ad partners (currently Google AdSense) serve ads, they may set cookies or read device identifiers as described in Cookies & advertising below.
Cosmo Pop (mobile game)
This section explains what data the Cosmo Pop game (the "Game") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to Cosmo Pop on iOS and Android.
Summary
Cosmo Pop is a single-player, mostly-offline puzzle game. The Game stores your settings, progress, and purchases on your device only. We do not run our own player accounts and we do not run our own analytics servers. Data that leaves your device only does so when:
- You complete an in-app purchase (handled by the platform's billing system - Apple, Google);
- You watch a rewarded ad (handled by the ad SDK - see Third-party services in Cosmo Pop below);
- You use the platform's cloud-save / restore-purchases feature (handled by Apple iCloud / Google Play Games, when wired up).
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Data stored locally on your device
The Game writes the following to your device's local app storage:
- Gameplay state - best score, run history, achievements progress, owned skins / banners, equipped cosmetics.
- Wallet - current Star balance and lifetime-earned Star total.
- Preferences - music + sound volume, haptic toggle, ads-removed flag, Terms-of-Service version you have accepted.
- Gacha state - first-pull-used flag, last-viewed banner.
This data never leaves your device unless you trigger one of the cloud-sync paths described below.
Cloud sync
When platform cloud-save integration is enabled (Apple iCloud Key-Value Store on iOS, Google Play Games Services Saved Games on Android), your local preferences and progress may be backed up to your platform account so you can restore them on a new device. The cloud copy is managed entirely by Apple or Google; the developer does not operate the backup servers and cannot read individual save files.
You can opt out of cloud sync via your device's system settings (e.g. iCloud Drive toggle for the app, or Google Play Games Saved Games toggle).
Third-party services in Cosmo Pop
The Game integrates the following third-party SDKs. When these SDKs are present in your installed build, they receive data as described below:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) - used to serve rewarded video ads (player opts in by tapping the "+AD" button to earn stars) and interstitial ads (shown between runs). AdMob receives the Google Advertising ID (GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS), coarse device data (model, OS version, locale), and ad-interaction signals (impression, click, completion) used to serve and measure ads. AdMob's data handling is governed by Google's privacy policy. You can limit ad personalisation via your device's ad-ID controls (Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android; Settings → Privacy → Tracking on iOS) or purchase the in-app Remove Ads entitlement to suppress interstitials entirely; rewarded ads remain opt-in only.
- Google Play Billing (Android) - handles purchases of Stars and the Remove-Ads entitlement. Subject to Google's own privacy policy.
- Apple StoreKit (iOS, when iOS release ships) - same role as Play Billing on iOS. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Cloud save (Apple iCloud / Google Play Games) - optional, see Cloud sync above.
We do not run our own analytics, crash-reporting, attribution, or profiling services in the current build. If any of these are added in a future release, this Privacy Policy will be updated and your acceptance re-requested via the in-game Terms-version prompt.
Data the Game does not collect
The developer does not collect or store on its own servers:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address;
- Precise location (GPS);
- Photos, contacts, microphone, or camera data;
- Health, financial, or sensitive personal data.
We have no servers that hold your gameplay data.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't require accounts or sign-ups for our public apps.
- We don't share data with third parties beyond what's needed to deliver the service (hosting, analytics, advertising, platform billing, platform cloud save).
Children's privacy
Our apps and games aren't directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or otherwise control your personal data. Since our games do not operate developer-side servers, exercising these rights for Cosmo Pop typically means clearing the Game's local data through your device's system settings (or uninstalling the Game), and revoking platform-side IAP / cloud-save history through your Apple ID / Google account. For our web apps, contact us using the address below to exercise these rights.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top when this policy changes. For material changes affecting Cosmo Pop, the in-game Terms version will be bumped and you will be prompted to review and accept the updated Terms-of-Service and Privacy Policy before continuing to play. For our web apps, we'll surface a notice in the app where relevant.
